Week 4 - Plays, Plays, Plays!
For this week in the arts class, we focused very heavily on theatre. Present Laughter First, on Monday we went to the Old Vic theatre. The theatre was a bit small and located very near the dorms. The play was about an actor, played by Andrew Scott who was also in the BBC Sherlock (Fantastic actor), who was going through an identity crisis as he hit his middle age. A lot of the play had to do with the effects his relationships had on the people around him, such as a one night stand turning a girl into an obsessive stalker, a man who came to get his play reviewed turning into an obsessive stalker, and his friend's husband seducing him, and claiming to love him, before revealing he was one of the multiple affairs. Through all of this, the people around him, his closest friends, treated him as though he were awful and immoral for sleeping around, cheating, and being overdramatic. However, all these friends behaved the same way he did. His friend Helen, whose husband he had slept...
